Liz and Rae aka The Harmonators insist that calling their new album, “Big Mouth” was a no-brainer! Not only is it the album’s opener and a definite contender for a radio single, Rae explains, “It also describes a little bit of who we both are. If people have been to our shows they would know we like to have a chat and quite often divulge information about ourselves and each other”.

Recorded at Nashville’s Fool On The Hill studios in August 2011, “Big Mouth” is the second album from the 2009 TIARA Awards Best Duo. Sharing creator credits are long-time producer Matt Fell along with previous song-writing collaborator Sam Hawksley. Featuring 10 tracks – six written or co-written by the duo along with Australian and Nashville co-writers – “Big Mouth” is released next Friday May 4th. The release will be celebrated with two official launch parties, first up on Sunday May 6th @ 1.30pm – Royal Cricketer’s Arms, Prospect NSW and Friday May 11th @ 8.00pm – The Pub, Tamworth NSW (both free shows).

The lead single, ‘Perfect Storm’ is currently #24 on the Country Tracks Top 30 & #34 on the Top 100 Country Hits. The related video clip, directed by Duncan Toombs has recently been added to the Country Music Channel’s play list and can be viewed here on YouTube.

Nominated for Heritage Song Of The Year at the 2012 Country Music Awards Of Australia, ‘Bondwood Boat’ is the latest radio single for Aleyce Simmonds. The lyrical tale about a mysterious sailboat on the Hawkesbury River was co-written with the 2011 CMAA Male Artist Of The Year, Graeme Connors. Aleyce was inspired to give the vessel a voice on one of her daily train trips to the studio as she recorded her debut album, “Pieces Of Me”.

If you weren’t lucky enough to be in attendance at this year’s Golden Guitars, where the track was performed live, check it out on YouTube

This new single can be found on “Pieces Of Me” – the album which earned Aleyce three 2012 Country Music Awards Of Australia finalist spots, the previously mentioned Heritage Song Of The Year plus New Talent Of The Year (The Healing Hands Of Time) and Female Artist Of The Year (The Healing Hands Of Time). ‘Bondwood Boat’ also features on “The Last Supperteers”, the 2007 album release from Graeme Connors and The Fiddler’s Feast.

Born in the northern NSW town of Port Macquarie and raised in Tamworth, Aleyce continues to perform in her home-state and prepares to tour SA, QLD and VIC in coming months. Amid the live performances the 2005 Telstra Road To Tamworth winner has begun writing material for her 2nd as-yet-untitled album.

‘I Need You Now’ is the new radio single and third to be released from Jacqui Ryan’s debut album, “Break Through”. The track co-written with Lyn Bowtell; deals with a woman coping with her cheating partner. She tries to forget him and escape the hurt, but all she can see is his face and no matter how hard she tries to get “over him”, she finds she still wants him.

The Brisbane-based singer-songwriter released her debut self-funded album in August 2010, preceded by 2007’s debut EP “A Moment in Time”. This EP featured two songs short-listed for the highly acclaimed Twilight Saga: New Moon Soundtrack in 2009.

In 2003 Jacqui took out the QLD Champion Of Champions – her prize included a scholarship to the CMAA College of Country Music which she attended in 2004. That same year Jacqui was a Star Maker grand finalist, the inaugural Senior Urban Country Talent Search winner and has since performed alongside artists such as Adam Brand, Beccy Cole and Troy Cassar-Daley.

‘Fireproof’ is the first radio single and title track from Katie O’Donnell’s debut EP. Featuring seven original songs, Katie wrote the lyrics and melody for six of these including this new single. ‘Fireproof’ holds a double meaning for Katie, reminding her not only of the fact that no one is fireproof but also acting as a personal mantra for strength and self-belief in times of adversity. (Although confined to an electric wheelchair with muscular dystrophy, Katie is adamant she wants her music to speak for itself).

The young West Australian has been singing and performing since she was 12 years old and is a founding member of the Variety Youth Choir for the past 13 years. Katie has performed across Western Australia, Brisbane, Sydney, London, Chicago and New Zealand. The 2011 WA Young Australian Of The Year awards state finalist listened to anything and everything growing up but over time gravitated to country. Katie’s sound is a blend of country and pop – take a listen for yourself…

Mitchell Shadlow returns with ‘Elegantly Wasted’, the first radio single from his upcoming album “All In The Raising” to be released later this year. The track pulls you in right from the start with its kick-back reggae feel, Ukulele intro and the ever-smooth vocals Mitchell is famous for. It’s a musical tale of blowing off the working week and getting away from it all, at your favourite coastal hideaway.

The one-time touring mate of legendary Australian country music artists Stan Coster and Slim Dusty has been working on the forthcoming album for the last two years. The 12 track CD features nine self-penned tracks, a John Williamson cover ‘You And My Guitar’, an old folk song ‘Black Is The Colour’ and ‘Fishermans Blue’s’ from one of Mitchell’s favourite Irish bands, The Waterboys.

The three-time CMAA Golden Guitar nominee produced the album along with long-time friend Rob Long with most of the tracks written in Forster at his parent’s place on the NSW Mid North Coast. Now residing in Newcastle, NSW, Mitchell plans to once again perform in his former home of Dublin, Ireland later this year.

Growing up in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Tasha was exposed to a contrast of artists ranging from Dean Martin to Elvis Presley to Blink 182 to Shania Twain by her music-loving family. As well as music, gymnastics also played an important role in Tasha’s childhood but by age 15 she had signed up for singing lessons – taking the first steps in her professional music career.

Over the next few years Tasha performed mostly local but often, including the Australian and American National Anthems at Rod Laver Arena in 2009 for a Monster Truck Event and taking part in The Telstra Road To Tamworth that same year. 2011 saw Tasha release her debut 4 track EP titled “I Kinda Like It” and her first trip to Australia’s country music capital for the annual January festival.

Returning to Tamworth for this year’s festival, the self-confessed on-line shopaholic was named the ‘Country Winner’ in the Australian Country Music Busking Championships, claiming victory over 550 performers. “Being awarded this title was a great thrill. It was my second year busking at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, so I was extremely happy not only for myself, but for my band who also took the journey with me” says Tasha.

This year also sees the release of her debut album, “On The Run” which features 11 tracks – nine self-penned and two co-writes. The collection of songs were written over the course of three-four years and recorded throughout 2011. First single and video, ‘Time To Waste’ explores the singer-songwriter’s mixed emotions about a relationship and just letting go.

Christie Lamb started off 2012 with a very successful Tamworth Country Music Festival – she not only made it all the way to the Toyota Star Maker finals but she was also voted ‘Most Popular New Independent Artist 2012’ at the Meet n Greet Country Awards during the annual event.

March sees Christie’s debut single, ‘Mr Wrong’ hit the 20th spot on the Country Tracks Top 30 and the release of the accompanying video clip. Directed by the award-winning Duncan Toombs, the clip was shot on Valentine’s Day and reflects the humour of the song. Christie stars in the clip where she tries to find her ‘Mr Right’ with the help of a crazed scientist, a male guinea pig and an exotic transformation machine.

Check it out for yourself here: YouTube

The young Western-Sydney based artist has returned to university to complete her Bachelor Of Music degree before heading to Nashville in June. Her first trip to the Country Music Capital will see Christie focus on writing material for a full album plus performances at The Sheraton Hotel with the Alan Tomkins band and the Welcome Lunch for Travelworld Tamworth at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville on Broadway.

“On this, her debut recording, Christie Lamb, who hails from Sydney’s Macarthur region, proves she has a vocal talent and knowledge of her craft that go well beyond her tender years. If this EP is a sign of things to come, Christie Lamb will most certainly be a name on many a country enthusiast’s lips for years to come.”

THE HARMONATORS aka Rae Moody & Liz Kinninmont are back with a brand new single ‘The Perfect Storm’. The new single was co-written by Rae and Matt Scullion and was the first track written for the duo’s forthcoming album, “Big Mouth” due for release in early May. The track likens a storm’s characteristics to that of a relationship – both can be powerful and turbulent but there comes a time when you’re ready to stand on the edge and get caught up in it all.

THE HARMONATORS are Rae Moody, a 2007 CMAA Country Music College Graduate and Liz Kinninmont, a vocal and drama coach for the past 12 years. Liz and Rae met while pursuing studies as lead vocalists at the Australian Institute Of Music. Recorded at Nashville’s Fool On The Hill studios in August 2011, “Big Mouth” is the second album from the 2009 TIARA Awards Best Duo and sharing producer credits are long-time producer Matt Fell along with previous song-writing collaborator Sam Hawksley.

“Of course it was nerve-wrecking at first. It felt a little like we were recording our first album all over again because of the unknown but thanks to the wonders of technology we were able to pick songs, do rewrites and plan everything really well so when we hit Nashville we were ready to roll,” says Liz of their recording experience.

“We got to go to The Country Music Hall of Fame, sit at the piano Elvis used to play at RCA Records and stand on the stage of The Grand Old Opry. As country music singers I can’t think of a more inspiring experience to have. Wow!” Liz continues.

“This time, releasing the first single is really exciting. Letting audiences get a taste of what the new album will sound like, makes you nervous and excited all at once, especially since we are completing the finishing touches of the album too. I’m really proud of this song; it’s my favourite track on the album. Co-writing can be so rewarding and being able to work with someone like Matt, who has a wealth of experience and is willing to share, was really great. I’m so appreciative,” adds Rae.
